How to Select the Right Community College in New York

Regardless of whether you’re a secondary school senior or somebody who wants to specialize or re-train, it can be time spent well to take a look at what you would like your life to be a couple of years from the present. Should you determine that attending a community college in New York is perfect then proceed, but well before enrolling in a particular community school, you need to do some groundwork.

When choosing a school, highly priced doesn’t mean more desirable, and your community school search in New York must not only rely upon the cost. In truth, you might get poorly educated and be trained for a community profession that will lead you to a career wasteland. Equally, choosing the most inexpensive community institution may not be right for you, therefore it is essential to select the right one given it will have an effect on who you become, the quality of your daily life and just how you’ll experience career trends in the foreseeable future.

There are some respectable community schools in New York, several well-known and some less known, waiting to be found. You may begin by obtaining information along with guide materials at the nearby library. Furthermore, it is useful to speak with those who have attended the community school that you’re planning on visiting, or possibly speak with the school’s enrollment consultants who can definitely help and should be keen to have you signed up as a pupil. A lot of people also look up varied community schools on the net to read relevant critiques. Some other potential learners may ultimately feel the need to visit the school to get a feel of what it’s really like.

Overall, pick shrewdly and sign up for a community institution that seeks for substance and quality.

2. Borough of Manhattan Community College

I attended BMCC for 3 years and just recently graduated with an Associate in Applied Science of Nursing.

To begin, it’s located near many train stations including NJ transit! It’s in a beautiful part of TriBeCa (that’s seems to be evolving daily!) The campus itself is welcoming, well-lit, and easy to get around.  The tuition is extremely affordable yet they still provide many scholarships including the BMCC Foundation scholarship and the Out-In-Two Scholarship designed by the President of the college which covers full tuition and provides extra services to help you complete your associate degree in 2 years. I see a lot of critics on the student population and while it is true that there are many people that don’t have the maturity you’d expect for college, you have to keep in mind it is a community college. You will, however, meet many people from many different backgrounds. We all have our reasons for going to BMCC. Some people are going back for a second degree, some trying to save money before going on to a 4 year school, and others trying to get their lives back in order.

As a student, I researched my classes and professors carefully and almost every science professor I had had a PhD. Many professors are adjuncts that also teach at 4 year colleges. My speech professor taught at Pace. My chemistry professor taught at LIU and many of my nursing professors taught at Adelphi.

Smaller establishment of higher learning.  The faculty will without hesitation stay later to go over lessons.

Admin here is a big plus, no running around to 20 offices.  The communications director had been really nice to greet, answer, and entertain any/all my questions.  She presented service with a smile.

Overall, class scheduling is standard.  School is lacking a mascot if thats what your looking for out of a college however; straight forward it’s the best bang for your buck continuing education establishment in what it offers..

New Year’s Resolution – My Remarkable Idea of Not Giving up

I can go on and on about my list of things to do this year and, believe me, it can get pass the hundred mark. There are plenty changes I wish to make, and quite a few improvements to do but the troublesome part is to stick to it and follow through. Most difficulties – especially keeping some of them – may stem up from the possible lack of motivation on our part yet I can’t dismiss other factors too. Still the reality is that it’s hard to follow through with many of our resolutions.
